South-African born, Swiss-based artist. Lives and works in Zürich.
Areas of focus: Sculpture & Graphic Work, Teacher for Visual- and 3D Art and Design.

 

 

1971   Born 1971 in Somerset-West, South Africa.
1991-92   Study Graphic Design at Cape Technikon.
1992-96   Travel to England, Studio in Canterbury. Live and work in London, travel Scotland, Netherlands and India. Studio in Cape Town and various exhibitions in Western Cape.
1998-00   Study Fine Art at Port Elizabeth Technikon. Major Sculpture.
1999-00  

Winner of the Vodacom Sculptural Design, Vodacom, Port Elizabeth. South Africa. Founder Member of the Fusion Artist Group and participate in various exhibitions. Sculpture commission for the Vodacom Vodacre-Building, Port Elizabeth, South Africa.

2000   Teach 3D for the Port Elizabeth Technikon Foundation Studies and Drawing and Printmaking at the Russel Road College, Port Elizabeth. Participate in various exhibitions. Art Stipendium from the Eastern Province Society of Arts, South Africa.
2001-02   Teach Art at the PJ.Olivier Arts Center, Stellenbosch. Freelance-sculptor for various sculptural commissions including Angola Memorial. Participate in various exhibitions.
2003-04   Travel and work in Taiwan, teaching Visual Arts and English. Studio and exhibitions in Taipei. 
2004-06   Work on a sculptural commission for Angola Memorial in Cape Town. Live and work-studio with Stefanie Eins on Bouwlust farm, Mupomalanga, South Africa. Free lance sculptural work in Dubai.
2006   Arrival in Switzerland with Stefanie Eins.
2006-12  

Teach Art at various Schools and Institutions.  Art studio in Sonnenbühl, ZH, participate in various exhibitions. Commission for a Play Park Design & Realization for the International School Schaffhausen and Lernstudio Junior in Winterthur. Art Stipendium from Foundation Thorens, Basel. Join the Visarte Zürich Group.

2010-12   Study Fine Art at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. MA Fine Arts / Major in Art Teaching / Graduation project: Sculpture in Public Spheres. 
2017-18   Study at the Pädagogische Hochschule Zürich. Teachers Diploma for SekI-Werken.
2016-22   Travels to South Africa and Portugal with partner Simone Strässle and Solvej Strässle.
2012-24   Continue teaching Visual Arts/Bildnerisches Gestalten and Werken/ Technisches Gestalten at different Schools: Heilpädagogische-, Sonder- und Volksschule in Kanton Zürich. Participate in various exhibitions.
Since 2019   Sculpture studio in Steinmaur Bildhauer Ateliers, Steinmaur.
